
CJ Juhasz is director of the Women’s World Banking capital markets group. WWB provides support, advice, training and information to a global network of more than 40 microfinance institutions and banks that offer credit and other financial services to 20 million low-income people — primarily women — in 28 countries worldwide. The capital markets group has primary responsibility for promoting network members’ access to commercial sources of funding, especially local currency capital. This includes capital introduction and advisory work on capital markets transactions, as well as capacity building on investor readiness, financial risk management, business planning and projections, and performance monitoring. CJ recently managed the launch of the WWB private equity fund—representing the first direct investment of WWB-managed capital in network member institutions.
Prior to joining WWB, CJ spent 12 years structuring and marketing international fixed income capital markets transactions for banks and financial institutions globally. Most recently she served as a director in Deutsche Bank’s fixed income syndicate group in New York. Previously she had worked as a vice president in Deutsche Bank’s capital markets group in London and Merrill Lynch’s capital markets group in New York. She began her career as a military police platoon leader in the United States Army. She is currently a board member and treasurer of the Microfinance Club of New York. CJ holds a BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from Stanford University.

Miguel Arvelo is a Senior Associate with the Capital Markets Group (CMG) of Women’s World Banking. In addition to contributing to the origination of new commercial funding and capital markets structures to increase the supply of local currency capital to WWB network members, he is in charge of financial analysis and due diligence related to securing this new capital. Additionally, Miguel assists WWB’s network members with their business planning and projections, helping to identify new investors and lenders to facilitate their growth. He is an active team member in the design and delivery of the annual Capital Markets Conference and also contributes to Financial Risk Management trainings and field visits for WWB network members and other industry players.
Prior to joining WWB, Miguel worked in Morgan Stanley’s Microfinance Institutions Group as a member of the Debt Team originating and facilitating capital markets debt transactions including collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) for MFIs. Within this team, he was responsible for credit due diligence on MFIs, assisting in pricing, and managing the legal documentation and review process for MFI term loans. He interacted with Morgan Stanley’s Securitized Products Group (SPG), Legal and Investment Management (MSIM) departments. Prior to joining the Microfinance Institutions Group, Miguel also worked with Morgan Stanley’s Risk Management Group of the Latin America Credit Team and as an Internal Auditor for the firm’s Corporate Functions Group.
Miguel holds a B.S in Finance from the School of Management at the State University of New York at Binghamton. He is Venezuelan-American and a native speaker of Spanish with basic knowledge of Portuguese and German.

Rebecca Ruf is an Associate for WWB’s Capital Markets Group(CMG). In this role she supports the CMG team with financial analysis and due diligence related to securing new capital for WWB network members’ growth. She also plays a critical role in delivering WWB’s capital markets conference, investor forum, and trainings, managing WWB’s network member capital needs and international investor surveys, and monitoring WWB network member performance.
Prior to joining WWB, she worked as an independent consultant for a start-up private equity fund analyzing potential microfinance equity investments and developing models for analyzing MFIs’ operational & financial performance. She was also a consultant in the Micro and Small Enterprises Division at the Inter-American Development Bank. Before transitioning to microfinance, Rebecca worked for seven years in international real estate investment, including as a Senior Manager for Starwood Hotels & Resorts and as a Senior Associate for HVS International. In both capacities, she performed underwriting for potential acquisitions and dispositions, equity investments, and mezzanine financing of real estate assets in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
Rebecca has a Masters degree in International Development and International Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Hotel Administration from Cornell University. She is currently Secretary and Steering Committee Member of the New York chapter of WAM International (Women Advancing Microfinance).
Rebecca is a national of both Ecuador and the United Kingdom. She speaks English and Spanish fluently, is proficient in French and Italian and understands basic Hebrew and German.
