WWB'S Ugandan Network Member Unveils New Brand as "Finance Trust"

WWB network member Uganda Finance Trust has unveiled a new brand, and will now be known as Finance Trust. A new logo and corporate motto - "Let's Grow" - were introduced as part of the rebranding effort. At the same time, Finance Trust opened a new head office and branch at Katwe, a move that, in the words of Chief Executive Officer Mathias Katamba, will bring Finance Trust "closer to our target market." The new brand, Katamba said, will better enable "clients to identify who the company is" and allow Finance Trust to "demonstrate our service quality."

Finance trust was founded in 1984 under the name Uganda Women's Finance Trust, and is one of the oldest and most successful MFIs in Uganda. Today the company is among the largest branch networks in the country, with 22 branches spread strategically throughout Uganda and linked to the head office. In 2005, Finance Trust became the fourth licensed MDI (Microfinance Deposit-taking Institution) in Uganda. It currently serves over 85,000 clients with a variety of savings and loan products.
