
Erin Markel joined WWB’s Lateral Learning team in August 2008 as an Associate.
Prior to joining WWB, Erin worked for Pro Mujer International, the Council of Women World Leaders, and the District Attorney’s Office in Washington County, Oregon. In 2003, she co-founded, a small non-profit in Peru called Kanchay Wasi (“House of Light” in English). The center’s mission is to enable rural Peruvian women and children to escape psychological, verbal, and physical abuse while helping them to take the necessary steps toward financial self-sustainability and independence.
Erin has a bachelor Degree of Arts in Political Science from the University of Oregon and a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University concentrating in Economic and Political Development. Erin is fluent in Spanish and has an advanced level in German.
