Melinda Wolfe

Head of Professional Development, Bloomberg LP

 

Melinda Wolfe is the head of Professional Development at Bloomberg L.P., overseeing a full continuum of human capital management responsibilities. She has led talent management initiatives with a passionate focus on diversity at five major global companies over her career. Ms. Wolfe began her career at Merrill Lynch. However, it wasn’t until 1995, while at Merrill Lynch, that Ms. Wolfe was selected to head the Office of Diversity Strategy and Programs, a move which launched her career in human capital management.

Subsequently, Ms. Wolfe directed the Office of Global Recruiting and Training at Credit Suisse and later joined Goldman Sachs in the Investment Management Division, responsible for staffing, training and development programs. In 2007, Melinda joined American Express as Senior Vice President, Executive Talent and Chief Diversity Officer. In this role, she was responsible for a broad range of initiatives including executive hiring, the development of a high potential program to build a general manager pipeline and succession planning. 

In addition, Ms. Wolfe chairs the National Council for Research on Women’s Corporate Circle; co-chairs the Hidden Brain Drain Task Force; and serves as a Commissioner for the NYC Mayor’s Commission on Women’s Issues. She holds positions as Adjunct Faculty member and Advisory Board member at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. She is also a member of the Board of Planned Parenthood of New York City.

Ms. Wolfe received her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her graduate degree at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
