Enter a training program to help managers of small institutions sell investors on their organizations -- and field questions about risk. The training went well for M. Udaia Kumar, managing director of India-based Share Microfin Ltd., one participant in the program hosted by Women's World Banking and the Global Markets Institute at Goldman Sachs in New York. His pitch at a mock roadshow brought in $14 million. Then he headed to California and real-world investors, from whom he hopes to raise $22 million this year.
