Advancing Women in Asia

Women today make up the majority of the talent pool in the workplace, especially in Asia, where the changing role of women, in an increasingly global world, is garnering more and more attention. As women in large numbers are entering the work force and stepping into leadership positions in the public and private sectors, what drives and sustains them as successful women leaders? What are the success stories of women entrepreneurs and CEOs in Asia? Is the business case for hiring women in the corporate world in Asia the same as in the West where innovation, loyalty and employee satisfaction are key motivators? What are the unique challenges impacting women leadership across sectors in Asia? We invite you join us for a discussion of the various dimensions of women leadership in Asia, the first of a program series of Asia Society's Asia Pacific Women Leadership Initiative, to kick off women's history month and to launch Women's World Banking's publication on women’s leadership in Microfinance.
