Sheila Hooda

Sheila Hooda is a Senior Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team Member of TIAA-CREF. Sheila is responsible for M&A and Corporate Business Development for TIAA-CREF, a Fortune 100 financial services company, and leads the planning and pursuit of growth and business development opportunities both organically and through mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships and strategic investments, both in the US and globally.

Sheila is also a member of the Advisory Board of the TIAA-CREF Institute and is Chair of the firm's Leadership Initiative. Prior to joining TIAA-CREF, Sheila was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking Division.

Prior to Credit Suisse, Sheila’s work experiences included leadership positions at Bankers Trust and management consulting with McKinsey and Co. In addition to the United States, Sheila has worked and had assignments in Europe and Asia Pacific, in her over twenty years of experience in financial services.

Sheila received an M.B.A with a specialization in Finance from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Masters in Management from the Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad, India and a Bachelor of Science (Math Honors) from Fergusson College, University of Poona, India.

Sheila serves on the Global Advisory Board of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the Board of Trustees of Women’s World Banking – the largest global micro enterprise lending network, the Business Council of the Asia Society and the Tri-State Advisory Board of Pratham, which focuses on grass roots education in India. She also serves on the Boards of various not-for-profits focused on the empowerment of women, the alleviation of poverty through micro finance and the education of underprivileged children in developing countries.

She is a frequent contributor and speaker at various seminars and conferences on subjects including Business Strategy, Financial Services and Capital Markets, Globalization, Micro finance and Leadership. Sheila is married, has eleven year old twin daughters and lives in Westchester County, New York.
